Newspaper cutting: Well known and much respected, Mrs Betsy Markham (52) wife of Mr James Markham, of 57 North Parade, passed away on Wednesday last. Deceased was a member of the Ashby Women´s Guild. The Rev. G H Dunford conducted the funeral service at Brumby Cemetery on Friday, where the following mourners were present: Mr J Markham (husband), Mr and Mrs H Markham, son and daughter-in-law), Mr and Mrs R Markham, son and daughter-in-law), Sylvia Edna and Evelyn Markham (daughters), Mr and Mrs Kirkby (brother-in-law and sister), Mr J H Clark (brother), Mr an Mrs J Wilson (brother-in-law and sister), Mr and Mrs L Graves (brother-in-law and sister), Mrs Stafford, Mrs Harrison, Mrs Beeson, Mrs Goodhand, Mrs Brumby, Mrs Chafer and Mr Brumby, (friends). Wreaths were received from: Dad, Evelyn, Sylvia and Bert, Herb Kath and family, Ray and Nell, Wilf (Ambala, India), Edna and Clarry, Mother, Sally Tom and family, Mary and Jim, Henry and Ethel, Edith Harry and family, Flo, Len and family, Mrs Brumby and family, Mrs Burrell and family, Mrs E Foster, Dinah and Harry, Jim, Edie and baby, Mrs Hunter and family, Mrs Scott and family, No. 2 branch, Women´s Guild, Mrs Goodhand, neighbours and friends (wreath and stone), Jack and Norah, Lizzie, Walt and family, Scunthorpe Co-operative Society had charge of the funeral arrangements.
