These are the bare facts, and I think it all fits:

Alma Maud Markham - death Hull September 1905 - 9d 181
John Markham - death Hull 1945 - 9d 179 (registered April May June 1945)
Rose E Markham - (2^nd) marriage Holderness June 1945 - 9d 333 to King (presumably Ben)
I presume that this is "our" John Markham, both his age (making his birth as 1875) and the district would confirm this.
John died in the 2^nd quarter of 1945 and Rose remarried in June so they were probably not divorced - just a guess.

John married Rose Ellen GRANTHAM, daughter of Ralph GRANTHAM and Amelia E, on 3 Aug 1903 in Kingston-Upon-Hull. (Rose Ellen GRANTHAM was born in 1885 in Catwick, Yorkshire.)
